Who are nominee directors and do you need them?
Nominee director/shareholder is a person appointed to take your place as a company director, whether your goal is to maintain your privacy or reduce your taxes.
The reality is, a lot of problems can occur – from operational ones, as nominee directors are the ones with the formal power in decision making, to issues from a tax or banking perspective, if the authorities happen to suspect in the ownership structure of the company.
So, even though there are some cases when nominee directors are a reasonable option, it would be better to avoid them in order to go offshore legally, without further issues.
